Sir Patrick Moore, passed away yesterday at his home at the age of 89

He encouraged millions of children into a fascination with space and the universe and he will be sorely missed.

He was the former president of the British Astronomical Association, co-founder and former president of the Society for Popular Astronomy (SPA), author of over 70 books on astronomy, and presenter The Sky at Night, an astronomy television show on the BBC.
